The Southwest Center for Accelerated Schools

The Southwest Center for Accelerated Schools (SWCAS), located at The University of Texas at Austin College of Education, provides comprehensive services to help rural, urban, or charter schools and school districts improve and succeed.

From district-wide strategies to customized campus plans to professional development services, the SWCAS provides the training, tools, and ongoing support that schools need to improve. We work hand-in-hand with administrators and staff to create a solution that meets their needs, and we gather feedback and data at every step to help build long-term, sustainable success.

Founded in 1996 as part of the Accelerated Schools Project, the SWCAS has provided technical assistance to over 250 schools across the United States. The vast majority of these schools were Title 1 schools with most students identified as at-risk, and our work has led to significant improvements and documented successes.
